Junnugaddi /china grass sweet

Ingredients :
  • Milk --- 2 cups (500 ml)
  • Sugar --- ½ Cup (120 ml)(as you required)
  • Water --- ½ Cup (120 ml)
  • Junnu Gaddi / Agar-Agar / Chaina Grass --- 10 gms/1packet
  • Saffron --- pinch
  • Cashewnuts --- 1 tsp.
 Method :


 Heat a cup of water and dissolve the chopped china grass in the water.Soak it in hot water for an hour.

 Mash the chine grass well.(it is not compulsory to soak for an hr you can directly add chopped agar in to the boiling milk,only thing it takes time to disolve in it like 10 mints at least to dissolve in the milk)

 Heat the milk in low flame for 15 – 20 mins . The quantity of the milk should be reduce to half . Milk should become thick.(test the thickness by taking  milk drop with fingers tips,if the tips stick together then it is ready) 
Now add the mashed china grass and sugar , mix well and allow it cook until the grass dissolves completely.
add saffron while it is boiling.

 Transfer the china grass halwa in to a plate. let it cool for some time then it forms tight,Once the halwa is set , cut in to pieces .

 Decorate the pieces with cashew on top .Now the China Grass Halwa is ready to serve ...
