- 1/2 cup butteror 1/2 butter stick, softened (no substitutes)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts (optional)
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
