Moong daal kichidi

Ingredients :
* 1 cup rice

* 1/2 cup moongdal                                   (Instead of all spices u can put just garam masala 2-3    tsp)
* Small piece cinnamon
* 2 cardamoms
* 1 Big tamato chopped
* 2 cloves
* 1/2 tsp blackpepper
* 2 onions chopped
* 4-5 green chillies
* Few curry leaves
* 1 tbsp gingergarlic paste
* salt
* Pinch turmeric
* Oil or ghee
* Coriander leaves for garnish

Method :

 Chop onions, green chillies,tamatoe and coriander leaves. Wash the rice and moongdal. Add water in 1:2 ratio and put aside.

 Heat oil or ghee in a pan and add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and blackpepper.

 When they splutter add turmeric, curry leaves, green chillies and onions, fry them till golden brown and add ginger and garlic paste.

 Fry for 3 to 4 minutes, remove from heat and add it to rice and moongdal, add salt and cook it.

other way of  cooking is

cook the rice n daal in cooker for 4 whistles,then transfer all the cooked rice n dal in to  a big pan or u can keep in the same cooker n start heating add some turmeric,coriander powder,garam masala,tamatoes onions,chillies cook for few minutes untill tamatoes n onions cooked in rice..

after that put tadka/talimpu to the rice ..Garnish corinder leaves before serving.

Serve khichdi with sambar, curd or any pickle.
